Three very cool iPhone Apps to have on the Green
It’s always fun trying out new apps on the iPhone and these three are such gems that I just had to share even though they have very little to do with golf. (Actually, they have nothing to do with golf except that you can take better pictures when you’re out playing- and waiting …) The first one is Camerabag (US$2.99) which can change any of your pictures to lomo-like, b&w, vintage, fisheye, etc. within a single app. So instead of downloading 8 different apps, you just need one and it also leaves the original photo as is.
The second one is Pano (US$2.99) and what it does is enable you to take panoramic shots like the ones below. It’s not the easiest to use, kinda clunky and slow and you need to line up your shot against the shadow of the earlier one but when it starts stitching, the pictures do turn up well. I got this because a friend kept showing off his phone’s panoramic pictures which were really cool, especially for taking shots on a golf course.
Lastly, and I’ve saved the best for last is Photoshop’s version for the mobile phone called Photoshop.com Mobile and is free. Up until now I’ve always had to upload photos to my computer before I can tweak with them. Not anymore.

You’ll notice a marked difference in clarity, brilliance & colour saturation between the photo on the top and the one on the bottom. On the left, I simply used one of the predetermined elements: “Vibrant”- there are many others like Gaussian Blur, Rainbow, etc. For the picture on the right, I adjusted the exposure to the level I wanted myself simply by swiping my finger left or right (depending on whether I wanted it brighter or not) on the screen.
Super simple, fast & easy editing. And did I say its FREE?

HTC Hero’s camera is really bad compared to iPhone :(
